We are engaged as one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of a wide range of ShaliMulsion, which is used as a tack coat and may be used for grouting, lean mix curing, patching, sealing of formations and sub bases. The most significant advantage of our range is that they can be used during all weather conditions including rain but excluding frost and heavy downfall. Apart from this, we are offering two types of bitumen emulsion, ShaliMulsion A and ShaliMulsion C; each having three ranges - fast setting (FS), medium setting (MS) and slow setting (SS).


Our range of ShaliMulsion A and ShaliMulsion C is cold applied and is used in the construction and repair of pavements, driveways, roads and highways. These are water based and ready to use.


ShaliMulsion A

  • An Anionic Emulsion and is most effective in coating positively charged aggregates such as lime stone and marble and works best in warm and dry conditions
  • It also has application in soil stabilization and patching road surfaces


ShaliMulsion C

  • ShaliMulsion C is a Cationic Emulsion and is more popular due to its ability to absorb on to a wider range of mineral aggregates than its Anionic counterpart
  • It results in better adhesion to mineral aggregates, sets readily on all but the most electro-positive aggregates and is effective for use in all weather conditions


Features:

  • Surface dressing is stable, viscosity, breaking and adhesively
  • It is stable under storage and transport conditions and will break on application leading to the bitumen content adhering strongly to the road /patches and/or chippings
  • It has low viscosity for ease of handling and application
  • ShaliMulsion lows to minimize irregular spraying but would not flow due to road irregularities, cambers or gradients
  • Emulsifiers change surface dependent properties like rate of breaking and adhesively

  • It is eco/user friendly, pollution free and non- toxic
  • It is applied cold and does not require special equipments like boiler, part mix plant, fuel and labour for heating and avoids fire hazard
  • The most significant advantage of ShaliMulsions is their application during all weather conditions including rain but excluding frost and heavy downfall
  • Their reliability, economy and use of application has led to the popularity of ShaliMulsion over hot applied bitumen in road surfacing

Thermoplastic Road Marking Paints

We are engaged on providing a wide range of ShaliMark - Thermoplastic Paints, which is a retro reflective thermoplastic road marking paint. It is a synthetic resin based thermosetting material offering superior weathering resistance and color stability. The premix and drop on glass beeds ensure long lasting retro reflectivity. These are available in white and yellow color as per the clients’ specific requirements and have excellent wear resistance to ensure long life of the marking.

 

Precautions:

  • Minimize dusting of the material during use
  • Use of personal protective equipment like facemasks, goggles, heat resistant gloves and protective clothing while handling the material is recommended
  • Do not inhale product or fumes, do not ingest
  • Avoid eye contact. If contacted, wash copiously with water
  • Contact of molten product with skin would lead to thermal burns
  • Flush with cold water; do not remove material as it would lead to severe tissue damage

 

Packing:

These are available in 25kg light quality HDPE bag. Each bag is clearly marked with:

  • Name & identification mark of manufacturer - ShaliMark
  • Batch number
  • Date of manufacture
  • Color - White / yellow
  • Safe heating & application temperature

 

Application methodology:

  • Surface preparation
  • Surface must be bone dry, free from dust, dirt, grease, oil and loose particles
  • Concrete surface & old bituminous surface must be treated with cement grinding aidsclear primer before application

 

Application:

  • Add one bag of ShaliMark in pre-heater and allow it to melt
  • Keep on adding ShaliMark one bag at a time and allow it to melt before adding another bag, depending upon the capacity of pre-heater
  • Do no allow temperature to rise beyond 210°C. Ideally ShaliMark shall be melted between 180 - 210 °C
  • Mix ShaliMark with in-built motorized stirrer of pre-heater for a few minutes at 180-210°C
  • Offload the hot melted ShaliMark in application unit and keep on stirring it with in-built stirrer of application unit
  • Reference line shall be marked on pavement with nylon rope and chalk prior to application
  • ShaliMark shall be screeded / extruded at the requisite thickness
  • Type I glass beads (MOST/BS 6088A) shall be dispensed from the in-built dispenser of application unit @ 250-300 gms / sqm simultaneously
  • The finished lines shall be true to level, uniform and free from streaks
  • If the application can not be done using application unit, approved manual method shall be adopted
  • Proper safety measures shall be taken to ensure smooth progress of work

Our company is engaged in providing ShaliMark W (Water Based Paints), which are basically cold applied water based fast drying road marking paint. It can be applied on bitumen and concrete surfaces with a spray applicator and is available in standard shades of white and yellow. These are widely used at Zebra crossings, path dividers, speed breakers and other similar markings. Further, they have a retro reflective property, which make road marking paints visible in dark and also enable the driver to get alerted at reasonable distance and to control the speed of the vehicle.

Method of application:

Storage:

Application:

  • Paint should be thoroughly mixed before used by mechanical agitator
  • Limitations Avoid application when temperature is below 10°C or Rises above 50°C
  • Do not apply during rain, fog or mist
  • Extra care should be exercised when surface conditions have large amounts of motor oil or existing epoxy coatings
  • New Asphalt and concrete should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 30 days before the application of paint

Polymer Modified Bitumen For Roads

The properties of bitumen and bituminous mixtures can be modified by the incorporation of certain additives. These additives are known as modifiers and the bitumen treated with modifiers is known as modified bitumen. The use of modified bitumen is now a fairly established practice. It is covered under IS : 15462-2004.

Advantages:
With a careful selection of modifiers, it is expected that the properties of bitumen and bituminous mixtures will get considerably improved. Life of periodical maintenance and overlays gets enhanced by about 1.5 times, resulting in reduced frequency of maintenance renewals. The choice thus will ultimately be based on the life-cycle costing of the construction using conventional bitumen and modified bitumen.

The advantages of modified bitumen are:

  • Lower susceptibility to temperature variations
  • Higher resistance to deformation wear and tear
  • Better adhesion between aggregates and binder
  • Increase in fatigue life

The bitumen modifiers/selected polymers should be:
  • Compatible with bitumen
  • Blended with bitumen so that they disperse thoroughly with bitumen prior to use
  • Improve the temperature susceptibility of bitumen
  • Resist degradation at bitumen mixing temperature
  • Capable of being processed by conventional mixing plants and laying machinery
  • Able to produce coating viscosity at application temperature
  • Maintain premium properties during storage, application and in service
  • Cost-effective considering life cycle cost

Repairing Material For Potholes

ShaliPatch is a ready to use material for repairing pothole and other openings in bituminous/concrete surfaces. ShaliPatch should preferably be used in dry potholes or bituminious/concrete openings. ShaliPatch can be used in ambient temperature in the range of 0- 500C. ShaliPatch is a modified all-weather bitumen paste in liquid asphalt with chemicals, anti-stripping agents and additives conforming to ASTM D 2027. ShaliPatch has flash point of 790C, Saybolt Furol Viscosity at 600C of 200-500 Sec and moisture of 0.2%.

Application:
ShaliPatch is a blend of carefully selected gravels, which are subject to various rigorous tests. These gravels undergo several processes of mineral dressing such as sieving, pre-washing, controlled temperature hot air drying and encapsulation curing followed by mixing with essence of asphalt and special grade of bitumen. Gravels and additives are mixed in Pug Mill at an appropriate temperature and pressure.

Areas of Application:
ShaliPatch does not require any heating or mixing. Simply shovel the ShaliPatch into the pothole, bituminous/concrete openings and depressions on roads straight from the poly bag. If the pothole is especially deep i.e. over 2 inches, apply two inch layer in succession. Shovel enough into the pothole to slightly crown it. When completed, compress the pothole with pneumatic tamper before opening the area to traffic. Preferably allow one hour after compacting for system to have desired durability.
We recommend use of ShaliPatch in potholes or other bituminous/concrete openings which are minimal 2" deep for excellent adhesion bond and toughness. When more than 4" deep, it can be partially filled with hard rocks to save on cost without compromising on quality or durability.

Storage:
  • Always keep the container/poly bag closed in a well ventilated area under a shade away from heat or direct sunlight to avoid hardening. ShaliPatch shall have a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufcaturing

2 years product warranty, subject to repairing system being not damaged physically. ShaliPatch is a high quality, pre-mixed asphalt compound, which is applied without any heating. Combining a carefully selected aggregate, pre-washed and dried under controlled conditions, ShaliPatch is the right choice for all types of pavement repairs, joints, potholes and bituminous/concrete openings. It repairs dangerous potholes and bituminous/concrete openings to facilitate smooth vehicular movement ShaliPatch is a wonderful repairing system with excellent bonding properties lasting several years and facilitating repair almost instantly. It is clean instant road/pavement repair system without any smoke, noise or pollution. ShaliPatch does not stick to tyres, unlike conventional techniques and thereby provides longer durability.
